Quantum AI - Why this Technology Cluster?

Without an iota of doubt, quantum computing (QC) and artificial intelligence (AI) are being recognized as transformational technologies in the IT industry. Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and tools are being meticulously used across industry verticals to produce and sustain highly sophisticated systems. There are machine and deep learning (ML/DL) algorithms, frameworks, libraries and accelerators in plenty in order to speed up and streamline AI application design, development and deployment. With the data getting collected, cleaned and crunched from different and distributed sources is exponentially growing, the accuracy of AI applications and models is bound to go up significantly. However, there remain a few crucial challenges.

Primarily, the computational requirements for training, evaluating, optimizing and running pioneering AI models are rising fast. The current classical computers individually and collectively are found to be inadequate to handle the tremendous workloads being associated with complex AI processing. Quantum computing can provide the much-required computational boost to fulfill the varying ideals of artificial intelligence. Especially QC in conjunction with AI is capable of solving complicated problems.

Aims and Scope

Quantum AI is the cool combination of quantum computing and AI paradigms. That is, for fulfilling the computational requirements of real-world machine and deep learning algorithms, quantum computing through its sheer computational power comes handy in visualizing and realizing an arsenal of next-generation AI competencies that, in turn, can bring forth hitherto unheard industrial use cases.
