Networks around the world are going through a massive transformation in which edge computing devices/systems and edge infrastructure development hold a key role. Edge computing in telecom, often referred to as Mobile Edge Computing, MEC, or Multi-Access Edge Computing, provides execution resources (compute and storage) for applications with networking close to the end users, typically within or at the boundary of operator networks. As 5G gets closer to its widespread rollout and more countries work to introduce it, people are increasingly abuzz about what changes it'll bring to the tech world. Nevertheless, edge computing is preferred to cater for the wireless communication requirements of next generation communications like 5G/6G applications and Internet of Everything applications, etc, such as augmented reality and virtual reality, which are interactive in nature. These highly interactive applications are computationally-intensive and have high quality of service (QoS) requirements, including low latency and high throughput e.g., ultrareliable low latency communication, tactile internet. Most importantly, these applications are expected to generate a massive amount of data up to 30.6 exabytes per month. The limited capabilities of User Equipment’s warrant the need for edge computing to receive and store a massive amount of real-time data and then process, compute, analyse the data. As the technology is grown up proportionately the devices/systems, network modules, computing algorithms, security and device controller’s requirement also need much. To meet the requirements and solve the problems in industry 5.0 needs, the advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Edge/Fog computing, and Machine Learning etc. support also needed.
