Special Issue IEEE- SD

Intervention of Electrical, Electronics & Communication Engineering in Sustainable Development

Aims and Scope

Sustainable development is an approach to a country's economic development that does not jeopardize the environment's quality for future generations. Sustainable development has four dimensions: society, environment, culture, and economics, all of which are interwoven rather than distinct. Sustainability is a way of thinking about the future that balances environmental, sociological, and economic concerns in the quest of a higher standard of living. Environmental, social, economic, technical, and institutional factors all have a role in long-term development. Meeting sustainable development goals would necessitate effort on several fronts, including harnessing and exploiting technological innovation's potential

While existing public and private mechanisms at the national level can foster some needed innovations, such efforts have proven insufficient to meet global sustainability goals, particularly in terms of meeting the needs of the world’s poorest, most susceptible, or disenfranchised in current and future generations. Too often, technologies are either not produced at all due to a lack of a profitable market, or are developed but are neither accessible nor well-suited to end-user needs.

This special issue aims to promote knowledge and awareness of how to strengthen the "global innovation system" for sustainable development technologies in an equitable manner. The primary goal of this special issue is to promote technological advancements that reduce environmental difficulties and to address the requirements of the current generation without compromising the environment's quality for future generations.
