Design of Microstrip Patch Antenna with DGS for GSM application

In the present paper a micro strip patch antenna with DGS for GSM application is designed and simulated at 1.8 GHz frequency. DGS is applied in the shape of circular rings on the ground plane. Without DGS the return loss is -12 dB, which is further improved to -22dB by applying DGS. The simulated results such as impedance, bandwidth, directivity, gain and radiation pattern are analyzed and compared for with and without DGS.

Touch Probe Method of Orthopedic Implant Identification

Existing methods for implant identification suffer from several drawbacks. First, the information is not stored on the implant but somewhere else, which can raise the risk of data loss or counterfeiting. Second, most hospitals use paper based archives to keep the patient history whose management is a huge cost. Third, it takes much time to search for the implant and patient information, which does not only increase the risk of mistakes but also increases the cost. Aiming at providing an efficient and accurate way for orthopedic implant identification to reduce time and cost, a method of using radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology, a wire- less radio frequency communication technology, for orthopedic implant identification has been proposed.

Design of Low Leakage Arithmetic Logic circuit Using Efficient Power Gating Schemes

As technology scales towards nanometer regime the leakage power consumption emerging as a major design constraint for the analysis and design of complex arithmetic logic circuits. In this paper, comparative analysis of standby leakage current and sleep to active mode transition leakage current has been done. An innovative power gating approaches is also analyzed which targets maximum reduction of major leakage current.

Effect of Parallel Capacitor in Matching Network of RF Energy Harvesting Circuit

This paper is an outcome of a wide research on RF energy harvesting techniques presented so far along with the development and implementation of the new idea of using a matching network with and without including parallel capacitance. While working with variable signal power in RF energy harvesting there is always a problem with nonlinear behavior of rectifying diode in harvesting circuit, to overcome the same a variety of matching networks are proposed in this manuscript with the variable RF power along with the variable load. Simulation results shows that output has been achieved upto 1.8Volts with maximum power conversion efficiency up to 79% at -10 dBm input power. Experimental results represented DC output of 1.62 volts at a frequency of 900 MHz with -10 dBm input power. Optimization technique is used to select parameters value which maximizes output voltage and efficiency. Variation of load resistance and input power plays a major role in output voltage and conversion efficiency. Comparison of the same is also presented in this particular research paper.
